Building Sustainable
Presbyterian Campus Ministry across Ohio
starts at The Ohio State University

Presbyterian campus ministry at OSU has been tenuous in recent years: poorly connected to churches in our presbytery and state, and inadequately funded. This has left the ~67,000 student population of OSU’s main campus without a stable presbyterian presence.

The work of OSUKirk has been to stabilize our ministry to OSU and build a future where full-time pastoral campus ministry is sustainably funded. This is why we called a full time campus minister to begin this work. And this is what our campaign is all about, permanently funding this position so it will last into the future.

Let’s help our faith last.

$3 million to sustain our ministry

Most Campus Ministers spend at least 50% of their time fundraising for their position. We see this as time not spent in relational ministry with students. OSUKirk’s vision has been to shape a ministry where our pastors can devote all of their hours to building relationships and ministering to students on one of the largest campuses in the country.

Our campaign aims to raise a $3 million dollar sustainability fund that will permanently fund our campus minister’s salary and benefits so that OSU’s student body will always have a presbyterian pastor and ministry to turn to for support, and growth in faith.

This campaign is about investing in the lives of young people, nurturing the future of the church, and ensuring that the transformative love of Christ is felt on Ohio’s college campuses.

If you’re lamenting a lack of young people in your church, or if you want to nurture leaders in the church for now and the future, or if you want to just feel a part of a hopeful future where all belong, please prayerfully consider giving.

In a time when the mainline church is facing declining membership,
dealing with closing churches, and grappling with grief, the need for
future-focused sustainable ministry has never been greater.

We believe the best response to this “death” is to invest in “new life” for the church.
